Once again, the Holiday season is fast approaching! During this time, we ask that everyone adhere to the following safety tips:
- Be sure to stop for School Buses and obey the posted speed limit (25 mph) when traversing the neighborhood. Please remember that our neighborhood is not Charlotte Motor Speedway and children are at play.
- Lock your car doors – remember to remove valuable items out of plain sight in your vehicle. The majority of B&E cases are the result of individuals
leaving valuables in the open or leaving vehicle doors unlocked. - If you see suspicious activity, please report it to the police (911). For non‐emergency issues, call 311 (CharMeck). In Cabarrus County, call 704‐786‐9155.
- If a streetlight is out in your area, report it to Duke Energy using this link. You can also download their mobile app.
- Receiving a package: Around the holiday season, there are always reports that packages are stolen from porches by “Porch Pirates”. If you’re expecting a delivery and are not going to be home to receive it, let your neighbor know so that they can hold it for you. If that is not an option, have the carrier hold the package until you can pick it up.
- USPS offers a mail-holding service. You can learn more about this using the following link.
- Ordering from Amazon? You have the ability to request that your package be left in one of their lockers.
- Be sure to break down boxes and dispose of them properly.
Project Updates:
- Townhome restriping has been completed; however, there are a few remaining spots that need to be marked for guest parking. This can only be done when temperatures are higher than 50 degrees with sunlight and no rain in the forecast. We will continue to share updates regarding this along with hangtag distribution. We will also be placing QR Codes on communal mailboxes that will direct you to a link for updates.
- Tree removal/heavy limb up, along with stump grinding was completed during the week of December 5th (2022). The next step for that project in the townhomes will be to lay sod, which we anticipate will occur in early 2023.
- Coventry Pool resurfacing has been completed.
- Electrical work on the monument signs is progressing as of December 14th.
Other Announcements:
- Qualifying households in Mecklenburg County can receive up to $500 to pay heating bills during the winter. More info can be found in the following link.
- We are still seeking volunteers for several committees such as Architectural Review Committee (ARC), Beautification, Matching Grants, Safety, and Social. If interested, please use the following link to sign up. Due to the holiday season, we will be contacting interesting participants after the first of the year.
We hope that you and your family have a safe and happy Holiday season!
